Make the World Better
Project Description: For this project we were given the task of coming up with a solution to make the world better in some fashion. This left us with a lot of freedom of choice, with any possible problem or solution available at our disposal. Our group after much contemplation finally settled on the problem of obesity in the United States. To combat this we came up with a wrist watch that would monitor vitals and things like blood pressure or cholesterol as well as have the ability to give advice for dieting and exercise after analyzing their bodily functions.

Content:
- Homeostasis: is when an organism keeps a balance of body functions to keep alive, this was important to our project because obesity upsets homeostasis.
- Obesity: is when an organism consumes to many lipids and carbs and accumulates excess fat leading to health conditions, this was the focus point of our project and the problem we are attempting to solve.
- Blood pressure: is the pressure of the blood in an organism, this was important to our project because obesity leads to higher blood pressure which is harmful.
- Glucose: is a simple sugar used as energy, this is important to our project because it is instrumental in the make up of a person's blood.
- Cholesterol: is a type of fat found in one's blood, this was important because to much of this is dangerous.
- Heart rate: is the rate at which the heart beats, this was also important because increased fat constricts the heart and slows down heart rate.
- Lipids: are macro molecules used to store energy, these were important because having too many leads to obesity.
- Carbohydrates: are macro molecules that are used for energy, this was important because eating too many of these keeps lipids from being used and which accumulates fat.
- Circulatory system: is the organ system that circulates blood through the body, this was important because our watch uses many blood tests to determine a person's health.
